Urban Exploration

I'll never forget the first time I stepped foot in an abandoned property. I was working for a accounting firm and we needed to go in and retrieve and destroy all medical records.  I spent two days in there, almost in another world, just rifling through the remnants of forgotten yesterdays. It was mid summer and the building had no electricity or water.  The air was thick with humidity as the moisture seeped down from the roof and into the walls.  Yet it looked as if the people working there had gone to lunch and just never returned.  Cups of coffee sat on desks evaporated with nothing left to give up to the air and only a set of circular brown rings dried to the bottom of the cups.

Raising a family, I don't often get to venture out in to the unknown anymore, but from time to time, I do enjoy taking my sons with to explore some of the less foreboding places.
